Our next meeting on Monday 14th October will be our first at our new venue of Astbury Golf Club. Members are reminded that there are several pinch points on Peel Lane, most notably by the church wall in Astbury village.
The invited speaker will be David Walmsley giving a talk about Cheshire before and after the Norman Conquest. David is an Oxford history graduate, an Associate Fellow of the Royal Historical Society and a retired secondary school head teacher. He is an experienced speaker delivering over 20 talks on a wide variety of historical topics ranging from the Norman Conquest to the war in Ukraine. His talk on Monday will look at how the Norman invasion impacted Cheshire and left its mark on its future.
Anyone wishing to come along to the meeting as a guest can contact the club through the Contact Page of this web site, or if preferred they can ring 07717 375505 to speak to a current member.
