Our speaker at the Congleton Dane Probus Club meeting at the Lion and Swan on Monday the 20th of November will be Professor Ian Morison on the subject of ‘Are we Alone’.
Professor Morison is the Emeritus Gresham Professor of Astronomy at the Jodrell Bank Observatory, is a past president of the UK’s ‘Society for Popular Astronomy’ and is a founder member and now patron of the Macclesfield Astronomical Society.

His talk will be a discussion about where we might find life elsewhere in our own solar system and then how we might detect the presence of simple life on nearby planets and in other solar systems. With the search for Extraterrestrial Intelligence now being actively undertaken the speaker will be giving his own views on the subject aand it should be a most interesting talk.
