The speaker at our next meeting on Monday 13th May will be George Pilkington. The title of his talk will be “Birds n Bees”, an illustrated nature talk covering the courtship behaviour of birds and bees in our gardens, along with a few others. This talk replaces that on Ten Thousand Years of Bling by George Wallace who has had to withdraw. Longer term members may recall that George previously gave his talk to the club way back in 2016 and will know it is well worth repeating.
George has given presentations to such bodies as Kew Gardens, the RHS, the Soil Association, Honey Bee Keepers and many more. The BBC recently filmed him at his own garden for their Wild Garden series. He has created award winning products such as Waste Buster Wormery, and Solitary Bee and Bumble Bee nest boxes as used by Spring Watch and Autumn Watch (with Chris Packham) and Gardeners World.
Anyone wishing to come along to the meeting as a guest can contact the club through the Contact Page of this web site, or if preferred they can ring 07717 375505 to speak to a current member.
