We will be welcoming an extremely accomplished speaker and writer as the guest speaker at our next meeting on Monday 12th September. He is Ken Pye, Fellow of Liverpool Hope University, and most recently Managing Director of ‘The Knowledge’, a consultancy that designed and delivered business-leadership and professional-development courses and workshops, until his retirement in 2016. Before that, he had a wealth of life experiences too numerous to list here, but lead singer of a 1960’s Pop Group, Youth & Community Leader with profoundly disabled children, Community Development Worker for Toxteth, Regional Officer for Barnardos, and National Partnership Director for the Business Environment Association are just a taste.
In 2005 he established “Discover Liverpool”, a web site devoted to his studies of local history in Liverpool and Merseyside and to publicize the heritage of his home City.
His talk, entitled ‘Weird and Wonderful Liverpool’, featuring his experience of Liverpool’s unique history, people and wit is not to be missed.
Congleton Dane Probus Club is a friendly group of retired businessmen and professionals. Monthly talks are invariably very well presented, sometimes humorous, sometimes informative, and always entertaining. Anyone wishing to attend this meeting as a guest can contact the club through the Contact Page of this web-site and will be made very welcome.
