September 2017 news

Thu 7 Sep 2017

Our speaker on Monday the 18th of September will be Bernard Loveday who is a physiologist, studied at Kings College and after that at the Radcliffe Infirmary in Oxford. From then on he has carried out research on cardiovascular disease in all its many guises, He joined ICI to continue and extend their research into surgical techniques and valve replacement, with additional clinical interaction with Liverpool and Manchester. His talk will be on the more general aspects of the exciting developments in medicine and surgery during the last 60 years so it should be a most interesting morning.

The meeting will be at 10.30 am at the Lion and Swan as usual and if you are a retired man from either a business or professional background and you would like to come along, listen to the talk and find out more about the Club then please contact us via our website and we shall be pleased to make you welcome as a guest of one of our members.
